Book Review: The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan

Do you always try to kill people when they blow their nose?

I had a hard time reading this book, which made me really hesitate on whether I wanted to finish the series. But I have moved on to finish this series. Here is why I did not like this book.

Synopsis

IT’S NOT EVERYDAY YOU FIND YOURSELF IN COMBAT WITH A HALF-LION, HALF-HUMAN.

But when you’re the son of a Greek god, it happens. And now my friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess is in chains and only five half-blood heroes can join the quest to defeat the doomsday monster.

Oh, and guess what? The Oracle has predicted that not all of us will survive…

I have to be honest. To me this book is the most boring one in this series for now. The characters don’t grow much and the new characters that get introduced are quickly gotten rid of again.

For example Zoe Nightshade. She seems like a really cool and interesting character and then gets killed off. I liked her growth during the movie.

The same goes for Bianca Di Angelo. Her heritage is not known until after her death and only is told around the end of the book. I liked her growth from a young girl, fighting to keep her brother close, then when they finally find Camp Halfblood, she decides to join the Hunters of Artemis and grows there. Until she finally does something for her friends and gets killed off.

This story really felt as if Riordan just wanted to get more money by just releasing more and more books, even if the quality was not very high.
