On My Shelf #30

On My Shelf is an original feature inspired by the On My Shelf tag. Each time I will take 5 random books from my shelves and tell you about them (how I got them, what I think of them etc.), and if they are in Dutch I will write a small synopsis of them.
I will roll some dice to find out which books it will be.

More Adventures of Lotje in the Zoo by Jaap ter Haar

Lotje lives near a zoo where no two days are the same! Her father is their veterinarian. This book describes everything that happens with Lotje, the animals, father and uncle Nijltje, the caretaker.

I saved this book from the garbage of a friend, she did not want it anymore after moving out of her parents place. I think I read it one with my mother when I was younger, but have not since I got a copy of my own. They are funny short storys.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Fenix (Harry Potter #5) by J.K. Rowling

As if you did not know I am a Harry Potter fan 😉 Of course I have this one. I think it is one of the worst ones in the series. I find it a bit boring and would not recommend it to anyone.

The Mammoth Hunters (Eath’s Children #3) by Jean M. Auel

After reading the Dutch version of this book I wanted to buy the series in English too, so I started to collect them. They are not widely available in English in the Netherlands anymore, because they are pretty old and not a lot of stores sell English books. My copy is secondhand and pretty torn up. I liked it, but it has also been pretty long since I read it, so I am not sure my opinion about this series has changed.

Shadowhunters and Downworlders by Cassandra Clare ao

You guys know I love the Shadowhunter Chronicles! I like this booklet too, it is short but very funny sometimes and sometimes dramatically different from the rest of the series, which I liked a lot!

Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse #2) by Charlaine Harris

A classmate of mine gave this book to me because she had it twice on her shelves at home. We both liked the series and she didn’t mind giving it to me. I like the book, it was better then the first one, I think.

For now, let books enrich your life!
