I am like a fish, going from hook to hook
Originally I had planned to also do a review on the first two novellas. I will not do this however, I don’t like the series and don’t want to spend to much time on them.

Synopsis
If there’s one thing Mare Barrow knows, it’s that she’s different.
Mare Barrow’s blood is red—the color of common folk—but her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her into a weapon that the royal court tries to control.
The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but as she makes her escape from Maven, the prince—the friend—who betrayed her, Mare uncovers something startling: she is not the only one of her kind.
Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors.
But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat.
Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?
The electrifying next installment in the Red Queen series escalates the struggle between the growing rebel army and the blood-segregated world they’ve always known—and pits Mare against the darkness that has grown in her soul.
Overall the story of Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard is not too bad. I like the story, but I don’t like the characters. I was already a bit hesitant to start on the second book after I was not that enthusiastic when I finished Red Queen, but once I start on a series I will finish it unless I really can’t (like the Matched series).
Mare Barrow is one of the dumbest book girls I know! She just keeps falling from one avoidable thing into the other one.
I am really getting annoyed with the characters in this book. They are sometimes (read usually) too stupid to see traps and betrayal. And all the cliches being repeated over and over again. And since I really care about characters I am not happy with these books. Therefore I will not read Cruel Crown, of course I will put myself to reading the next novel in the Red Queen series, I will not do the novellas.
To be honest this series is one of the most disappointing series I got into. I am very sad about it. But we’ll see what I will do with it when the third book come out.
