What happens when perfection isn’t good enough?
Last time I read Pretties I was annoyed with it and didn’t care. The second time reading it I was much more interested and thought it was much better.

I give Pretties by Scott Westerfeld three out of five hearts because it had an okay story and wasn’t all that bad. It still doesn’t mean that I was super happy with it, but it wasn’t as bad as I feared from reading it four years ago.
Pretties picks up almost right after Uglies. Tally has been made pretty, just like she wanted and annoyed for the first half of the book with the pretty talk. But she is slowly changing. She falls in love with Zane, since she can’t remember much of what happened before. When they get to the ruins (again) she nearly tosses away Zane to be with David only to change her mind again and to take Zane.
Shay is happy to be back in Pretty town and really sucks. During Uglies she is calling Tally a boyfriend stealer because David falls for Tally and goes on in this book by doing the same when she is going after Zane but he falls for Tally. She is whiny and just plain horrible.
The world started to intrigue me a little more, but I did feel some of it was a little too convenient. I don’t care all too much about this series, but I remembered Pretties as being so horrible that I didn’t want to read on, but it isn’t that bad.
