I am being perfectly fucking civil
For the SeriesCrackdown readathon I also got to finish The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater. Event hough the characters started to grow on me, I did think the story was worse than The Raven Boys.

Synopsis
Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…
I give The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater three out of five hearts because I still don’t really like the series.
The characters were more interesting than during The Raven Boys with a light focus on Ronan instead of Adam. I loved the descriptions of Ronan’s dream thieving. The Gray Man is introduced because he is after something. He is a complex and curious story. I really liked him even though he constantly was in the way for me.
Adam changed between The Raven Boys and The Dream Thieves, probably because of him waking up the ley line. But he started to rub me the wrong way, I felt disinterested in him. He did show good character development, which is something I really like. That is probably why liked the characters more in The Dream Thieves than The Raven Boys.
I think the writing is great, it shows potential. But the stories are not for me. Maggie Stiefvater does her best to make us care but it falls short.
Overall I think I enjoyed this book more because of the modern things that are in this novel, but the fun they had with it. Like dreaming up awesome race cars and such.
