On My Shelf

Inspired by Spines & Covers, I am starting a new series.
It will be called On My Shelf. Each time I will take 5 random books from my shelves and tell you about them (how I got them, what I think of them etc.), and if they are in Dutch I will write a small synopsis of them.

I will roll some dice to find out which books it will be.

The Mime Order (The Bone Season #2) by Samantha Shannon

I loved The Bone Season so much I need to have The Mine Order too. I think I liked it, I am just not sure anymore!

Dark Vengeance (Charmed #15) by Constance M. Burge

I liked Charmed when it was on tv, so when the books came out I needed to collect these too. I like this one, but it is not my favorite one. I think it is The Power of Three that I like the best.

Betrayed (House of Night #2) by P.C. & Kristin Cast

I bought Betrayed together with Marked, it is a ‘special’ edition. The edges of the pages are painted in the same color as the titel of the book, so Marked is pink, Betrayed is blue. I have multiple of these now, opened once and never read again. I don’t like this series and sometimes regret buying these books.

Duivelse Verhalen by Paul Biegel a.o.

When I was young I loved tales with vampires, witches and all those kind of things. It contains multiple folktales by famous Dutch authors. I remember loving multiple of these so much I made my mum read it to me before bedtime.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

When I heard Stephenie Meyer was publishing a new story, not Twilight related, I was really sure I was going to like it. I tried and tried to read it, but each time I failed. In all the years since the release of The Host I have finished it once and I found the movie just as disappointing as the book.
