Book Review: Wizards and Robots by Will.I.Am & Brian David Johnson

Music is my therapy and my straitjacket

This book shows why music artists should stay with their chosen profession. Will.I.Am should stay with his music and Brian David Johnson with his nonfiction science-fiction and steampunk because this book was the worst.

Synopsis

When a young man breaks into her home claiming her life is in danger, Ada Luring’s world changes forever. Geller is a wizard, on the run from his father’s hidden clan who want to kill Ada and her mother. Sara Luring is the scientist who will create the first robot, the wizards’ age-old foes.
But a robot has travelled back in time to find Ada, and will lay everything on the line to protect her, as she may just be the key to preventing the earth’s destruction in the future.
Ada, Geller and the robots must learn to work together to change the past and secure the future. But they don’t have much time before a mysterious enemy launches its attack on Earth…

I give Wizards and Robots by Will.I.Am & Brian David Johnson one out of five hearts because I didn’t like it. I felt the story wasn’t going anywhere and even though the story world sounded interesting it wasn’t well executed.

For the first have of the book it felt like I was reading two different stories, one with wizards and one with robots and only in the second half they came together by brute force. I think there is a reason why wizards and robots have not shared a book up until this point because they are like water and oil and do not mix well.

This book felt like a fantasy version of the Terminator story and I didn’t care for another story like that especially for one with wizards in it too. I didn’t like the combination of this story. It felt like something nothing particularly worked out before it was written.
