On My Shelf #15

On My Shelf

On My Shelf is an original feature inspired by the On My Shelf tag. Each time I will take 5 random books from my shelves and tell you about them (how I got them, what I think of them etc.), and if they are in Dutch I will write a small synopsis of them.
I will roll some dice to find out which books it will be.

Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder

I bought this book because I heard a lot about it. It was supposed to be philosophical. I don’t know anymore what I thought of it. I was very young when I read it and have not read it since. I do remember I was impressed by it. I should read it sometime again, due to me now being an adult.

Club Dead by Charlaine Harris

I really liked Dead Until Dark and wanted all the books in the Sookie Stackhouse series. And so I got this one as well. I never got to the owning of all the books. But I liked this one, but was not impressed by it.

Shopaholic & Baby by Sophie Kinsella

I liked the Shopaholic movie and wanted to know what the books were about and so I bought several of them. I liked this one the most. But later on the first book in the series became my favorite one.

Ik Was Pas Dertien by Lea Saskia Laasner

This a true story about a girl getting trapped in a cult. It was very impressive and I just bought it on a whim.

Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane

I bought this book after seeing the movie. I liked the book and the movie but thought it was not translated well to the movie.

Do you ever read true stories? Which would you advice to me? Let me know in the comments down below!
