On My Shelf #3

On My Shelf

On My Shelf is an original feature inspired by the On My Shelf tag. Each time I will take 5 random books from my shelves and tell you about them (how I got them, what I think of them etc.), and if they are in Dutch I will write a small synopsis of them.

I will roll some dice to find out which books it will be.

First of all excuses for this one being short, or might feel it bit less thought after. I had written a nice post, but forgot it at work, so I had to write one again and so did not feel like it. But I did my best to make something of it. Sorry guys!

Supreme Power Volume 1 by J. Michael Straczynski

I found this comic on a convention in the country, also the second volume. I wanted to try it, because it looked interesting (one page had the picture of a kid happily playing with a puppy, the next there was the outline of the puppy on a wall where it disintegrated), but only wanted to buy the first. The salesperson only let me buy it if I also bought the second one.

A Casual Vacancy (Dutch Edition) by J.K. Rowling

I started on this book after I received it as a gift from my sister, but never actually finished it. She thought it might be a good idea since I like Harry Potter so much. But this book is totally not comparable to HP, which is too bad. I tried watching the tv series, but did not care for it that much.

Cress (Lunar Chronicles #3)by Marissa Meyer

I received this book last Christmas, just after I finished reading the copy I borrowed from the library. Oops! But I really like The Lunar Chronicles, I have a series of reviews on the books

Eona (Eon #2) by Alison Goodman

I have not read this one, it is on my TBR for years and this year I will really do it. I found this copy in a secondhand bookstore, weeks after its release. I hope that does not say anything about the book, because the copy is pretty butchered, so maybe the old owner read the book in a short period of time and then sold it again. I hope so, so much!

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick

I bought this book with 95% off, because someone destroyed it very much before anyone bought it. I have read it once I think, but it was not really memorable.

Let me know, what are your weird experiences with books, like mine with the Mortal Instruments or other quirky things in the comments down below!

For now, let books enrich your life!
