It was like something from a Vorse saga
The Boneless Mercies had slipped under my radar when it was released back in October, but I did pick it up and it made me interested without even reading the back.

Synopsis
Frey, Ovie, Juniper, and Runa are the Boneless Mercies—girls hired to kill quickly, quietly, and mercifully. But Frey is weary of the death trade and, having been raised on the heroic sagas of her people, dreams of a bigger life.
When she hears of an unstoppable monster ravaging a nearby town, Frey decides this is the Mercies’ one chance out. The fame and fortune of bringing down such a beast would ensure a new future for all the Mercies. In fact, her actions may change the story arc of women everywhere.
I give The Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tucholke four out of five hearts because it was an interesting novel. It was written in a very atmospheric way and kept me hooked until the end.
The story was interesting and the characters are very unique. The story is super about friendship and made me hope there wouldn’t be any romance in it, but unfortunately… Frey made me want to cheer her on. She is fierce, she goes with her friends to look for peril, which was great. I enjoyed these girls a lot.
There was some romance in the story which confused me. It didn’t feel important for the story, which made me wonder why it was in there. April could have been clearer with this and a lot of people say there is a lot of Norse myth referenced in it, but I didn’t see it that much. It was fine but didn’t make me like it more because of it.
Overall The Boneless Mercies is a great novel. It makes me want to look into the other books by April Genevieve Tucholke, but does anyone know if they are comparable? Please let me know in the comments down below.
