Book Review: Fairest by Marissa Meyer

Love is a conquest! Love is war!

I felt this book was a bit of a waste of my time. I did not like it. It is the worst book I have read by Marissa Meyer. Which is sad since I liked the first three books in the Lunar Chronicles a lot and the last one only a bit less. Oh well.

Synopsis

In this stunning bridge book between Cress and Winter in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana’s story is finally told.

Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?

Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now.

Okay so, I thought this book would rub me the wrong way. But it is way worse! The character of Levana is in this book so vain I want to hit her in the face, if she was real. To me it feels like this book is just written to get more money out of a, until then, very good series.

It is nice to learn how Winter gets to be Levana’s stepdaughter, but I just get annoyed with Levana during this book and it makes my opinion of the book go down.

I don’t really want to say anything more about this book. I am not someone who only wants to say bad things. But there is literally nothing I want to say more about Levana’s short story.
