Book Review: Maybe This Time by Kasie West

Now is the time to fail spectaculary

I have been enjoying most of Kasie West’s books even though they are sometimes pretty sweet in the romance aspect.

Synopsis

One year. Nine events. Nine chances to . . . fall in love?

Weddings. Funerals. Barbecues. New Year’s Eve parties. Name the occasion, and Sophie Evans will be there. Well, she has to be there. Sophie works for the local florist, so she can be found at every big event in her small hometown, arranging bouquets and managing family dramas.

Enter Andrew Hart. The son of the fancy new chef in town, Andrew is suddenly required to attend all the same events as Sophie. Entitled, arrogant, preppy Andrew. Sophie just wants to get her job done and finish up her sketches so she can apply to design school. But every time she turns around, there is Andrew, getting in her way and making her life more complicated. Until one day she wonders if maybe complicated isn’t so bad after all . . .

I give Maybe This Time by Kasie West five out of five hearts because it was another cute novel with great characters. At first I wasn’t convinced because it was a pretty slow burn story, but it was sweet and I enjoyed myself very much.

The characters were interesting. Sophie knows where she wants to go even though it makes her stuck in her thinking. Enter Andrew, cute but influenced by his father. He throws Sophie’s plans of track and they keep being forced to work at the same events. It is great how they keep being annoyed with each other instead of figuring out why. It was super cute and I liked it very much.

The story was a bit the same all through out, but I still really liked it. Especially after Kasie’s last book being such a disappointment. It was fun and with loads of humor.

Overall I enjoyed Maybe This Time a lot, the only problem I really had with it was it’s title (mostly the fact that I wanted to use it for my own manuscript). If you like Kasie’s books, read this one too, because it is a super fun one.
