Book Tag: A to Z Bookish Survey

I saw this Book Tag recently on YouTube when Kristin from Super Space Chick did it. It is originally done by Jaimy from The Perpetual Page-Turner and I thought it is a really great book tag. So here goes nothing!

A to Z Bookish Survey

Author you have read the most books from:
I think that honor goes to the Dutch author Paul van Loon. I counted all of the works of his I can remember I have read. It did count the ones from Carry Slee too and compared, but it will probably be a close call by now.

Best sequel ever:
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. You can find my review on it here. It was a bit tied with A Torch Against the Light by Sabaa Tahir

Currently Reading:
I just started Caraval by Stephanie Gaber. I’ve been struggling with What If? By Randall Munroe for a couple of weeks now. It is very interesting to read, but all the knowledge coming out of these articles, omg! And I have been reading Beauty and the Beast by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve since Friday and find the language used it a bit hard to get through.

Drink of Choice While Reading:
I like drinking tea and just bubbly water, nothing special.

E-reader or Physical Book:
Most definitely physical books. I have tried using an e-reader for almost 2 years, even two different models, and just did not like it. When I receive e-books from people I always want to print them out and read that way, but usually just read it quickly on my phone or pc, because I sold my e-reader because I was not using it anymore. I like the feeling of physical books much better and yes, it is way heavier, but I do not travel all that much and always leave enough space to take all the books I need and want.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated in High School:
I have no idea, I am not really the person to think of fictional characters as a boyfriend of girlfriend material. I might be too rational for that idea.

Glad You Gave this Book a Chance:
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. I loved it! Even though I am completely not one for romance novels, but this one was not as sappy as I expected to be.

Hidden Book Gem:
His Fair Assassins by Robin LaFevers. I loved those books so much and I feel they need more respect and attention by the book community.

Important Moment in Your Reading Life:
Discovering the book community! I love hanging around BookTube and blogs. Reading about other people’s opinions about the books that I’ve read. And the events are such fun!

Just Finished:
Just today I finished A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir. It was a great novel and such a great read! I liked it alot and I am want to work on my review for it.

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
I do not read erotica and I do not like romance novels, but I do sometimes give it a chance, because sometimes you find hidden gems within the romance.

Longest Book You’ve Ever Read:
According to Goodreads it is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, with 896 pages.
** easy way to find this out. Go to your Goodreads “read” list, don’t scroll down but where you are on the screen there will be this little tab on the bottom that lets you choose how you want to scroll or how many books you want display. There is also a sort option with a drop down and you can sort by page.

Major Book Hangover Because Of:
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Number of Bookcases You Own:
I slimmed down recently. I still have three cases filled to the brim with books. But I still own enough books to fill another three cases, but I am selling those. (Anyone interested in Dutch books? Contact Me!)

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times
Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. I read it so often I had to buy a new copy at some point because the old one was falling apart.

Preferred Place to Read:
My old couch, the new one is a bit firm for sitting on it for hours at a time, but I still try though! Otherwise I like reading in bed.

Quote That Inspires You/Gives You All The Feels From a Book You’ve Read:
I like the one from Dumbledore.
Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if one remembers to turn on the light

Reading Regrets:
Forcing myself to read the Shatter Me Trilogy by Tahereh Mafi. I did not like it from page 1 and it just got worse from than on.

Series You Started and Need to Finish:
Oh man, I’ve a long list of series I’ve to finish. Let’s just do the top 3 series I still want to finish this year.
Shades of Magic by V.E. Schwab
Firebird by Claudia Gray
Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Three of Your All Time Favorite Books
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare, Uprooted by Naomi Novik. Why only three?

Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern!

Very Exited For this Release More Than All The Others:
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas. I love the series and want to know how it ends!

Worst Bookish Habit:
I do not have really bad pet peeves. The only thing I do to books where I feel a bit like I should not do is putting the dust cover between the pages where I stopped reading.

X Marks the Spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. I did not like it all that much.

Your Latest Purchase:
Saga Volume 7 by Brian K. Vaughan. I liked it again a lot. I am curious how the series will develop further.

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY too late):
I think I have one in Caraval by Stephanie Garber right now. Otherwise the last one was Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

I thought the survey was very interesting and had fun filling it out.

I tag Kim from [Life of a Bookfish]](http://lifeofabookfish.blogspot.nl/) and everyone else who wants to do this tag! Have fun.

For now, let books enrich your life!
