On My Shelf #25

On My Shelf is an original feature inspired by the On My Shelf tag. Each time I will take 5 random books from my shelves and tell you about them (how I got them, what I think of them etc.), and if they are in Dutch I will write a small synopsis of them.
I will roll some dice to find out which books it will be.

Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I got Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern because it got recommend by multiple people to me and I got very curious. I started to read it today, so I do not yet know whether I like it or not, but I think I already do.

Moondance at Stonewylde (Stonewylde #2) by Kit Berry

I just needed this one too since I liked the first book so much. I like this one too, just a bit less than the first.

Twilight (Twilight #1) by Stephenie Meyer

When my mom once asked me to get myself a book for my birthday, I got Twilight because I was curious and heard good things about it. But because I nearly knew the entire plot I also bought myself New Moon, so I could move on. In the end I read both books, then handed them over to my mom to gift them to me for my birthday and Christmas (the same year, two weeks later or so). I liked Twilight, back then it was still original and cheesy.

Life and Death (Twilight #1.75) by Stephenie Meyer

When Twilight turned 10 I got this book, because I was curious how much different the book would be, if the roles were switched around. I still don’t know, because I really don’t like the characters even though Stephenie Meyer says she has not changed much, except for genders.

The Kill Order (The Maze Runner #0.5) by James Dashner

I got this in the boxset when I bought the complete Maze Runner series. I never read it, because for first three books I really felt like I wasted my time. I felt I could have spend my time reading something much better.

Do you have any books that really feel like you wasted your time? Or do you DNF books? I do not, because I feel like maybe you miss out on something that would have completely made the book worth it. I usually decide at the end of a book, if I am going to read the next part (like how I stopped reading the Matched series).

For now, let books enrich your life!
