Laughing doesn’t make bad things worse any more than crying makes them better
After rereading Miss Peregrine’s I needed to move on with Hollow City. I liked it better this time around.

I give Hollow City by Ransom Riggs four out of five hearts. I liked it but not as much as the first novel, it was still a pretty good read. Last time I read Hollow City I didn’t like the talking animals and the new kids Miss Peregrine’s children meet. But they actually added something to it.
I was said to see the two little children in 1940 die due to one of the being Peculiar and too young to be alone in the streets during war time. I loved them, the oldest because she kept protecting her little sister and the innocence of the sister is amazing.
It was hard for me to see that the children had to go through such a hard time in 1940. But it did look like the wisest decision for them to make. I could not imagine myself making the same hard choice. Then the talking animals came I and I was a bit turned off, but finally started to see the humor in them.

Overall, I loved Hollow City. The story was great and I liked the new characters. It stayed at the same level, or a bit below, as Miss Peregrine’s. We also get to know one of Miss Peregrine’s brothers. He is also very interesting and make me want to get to know the Wights more. They are so interesting!
