On My Shelf
On My Shelf is an original feature inspired by the On My Shelf tag. Each time I will take 5 random books from my shelves and tell you about them (how I got them, what I think of them etc.), and if they are in Dutch I will write a small synopsis of them.
I will roll some dice to find out which books it will be.
The Selection (The Selection #1) by Kiera Cass
I bought this book because I heard a lot of things about the series. The book itself disappointed me, it felt like I was reading the script of a reality series (which I hate btw). I read it during my week of holiday doing volunteer work and the next year I read the next one. I don’t think I learned anything from the disappointment.
City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments #4) by Cassandra Clare
I bought this one, because I liked the first three parts. I still don’t know whether I like the new parts. I will have to reread this one soon, also to understand somethings that happen in Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Jump Cut by Max Allan Collins
Jump Cut is a book in the Criminal Minds universe. I only recently bought it and so I have not had the time to read it. I think it will be an interesting one, because I really like Criminal Minds and the other books I read from Max Allan Collins where great.
Ster (Stardust) by Neil Gaiman
I got this book as a present together with the dvd of the movie, it is the Dutch version though. And since my Dutch has never been that great I thought the whole book long they were traveling on a squirrel (eekhoorn) instead of a unicorn (eenhoorn) (Yes I did not watch the movie before finishing the book) and only figured it our when the squirrel used its horn to penetrate a goat. So, yeah…
Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
I first watched the mini series on this book and loved it, the story, the scenery and the characters. So I bought the book, I also got a Dutch copy of the book that came with the dvd box of the series. I loved the book too, it is beautifully written and completes the mini series.
Do you have any books where you misread something?
