## I am the most basic bitch possible
I was looking forward to read Wayward Son, but it was a bit disappointing. It could be because it felt like it was written with a younger audience in mind.

Synopsis

The story is supposed to be over.
Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after…
So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch?
What he needs, according to his best friend, is a change of scenery. He just needs to see himself in a new light…
That’s how Simon and Penny and Baz end up in a vintage convertible, tearing across the American West.
They find trouble, of course. (Dragons, vampires, skunk-headed things with shotguns.) And they get lost. They get so lost, they start to wonder whether they ever knew where they were headed in the first place…

<!–more–>
I give Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell three out of five hearts because I felt it was maybe written for a younger audience and didn’t seem to have much dept.
In the beginning Simon is mostly this very down guy, because he has lost his powers and feels like he isn’t worth much without them and this feeling doesn’t change and there is no arc throught the story about it, but it does gets mentioned all the time.
Baz doesn’t seem to have a story arc at all, only Agatha and Penny have small ones and they aren’t even the main characters. Some random Normal gets thrown in and is hinted at being more, but only at the end it is actually said so. To me these are signs of either bad writing or being meant for a young audience, one that doesn’t care as much about character development.
The story overal lwas exciting and fun. They group goes on a car ride together in America and they get into much more trouble than bargent for.
