Recap December 2017

Recap December 2017

I am sorry for my late post, I have been busy last week and didn’t get to writing my recap until now.

The new year has started and last month was sort of a mess. I stopped my regular job because I am moving countries in February and even though I had hoped it would give me more time to read, I was wrong.

Read

I read a great mix of books this months. I read They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera, The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol and Inferno by Dan Brown, Now I Rise by Kiersten White, The Crown and Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass, Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, The Illustrated Edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Mathilda by Roald Dahl, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee, Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs, all eleven tales of The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare, The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum and Path of Revenge and The Darkest Dream by Kate Egan. I wish I read more this month, but it’s okay.

Also I started using an audiobook subscription from Storytel for audiobooks. I am loving the experience, but hate the app. It keeps freezing on me, finding books in it is a hassle unless I type the name of the book I want and they have it. Just browsing their collection might be easier if I didn’t block all their Dutch audiobooks and epubs, but I am just not interested in those. Also it would release so much other books again, it might actually be harder.

Goodreads Reading Challenge

I finished 2017 with 183 books, of which were 36 rereads and 20 2017-releases. I am very proud of myself for finishing so many books. Am I trying to out read everyone in the world? No, but I am trying to keep myself from spending too much time on things like Twitter and YouTube. Also I do not want to disappoint you guys by having less than 2 reviews a week.

This year I read 83% Fantasy books, 114 books written by women and gave 68 books 3 hearts and only 27 books were 5 heart reads.
